Welcome to the web-site of Didcot Choral Society.

We are a mixed voice choir of around 70 singers, drawn from Didcot and surrounding towns and villages. We work with a number of local groups and orchestras, and have a close relationship with the Isis Chamber Orchestra. We perform a wide range of music throughout the year and we are committed to contributing to the musical and cultural life of the area. Our current Musical Director is Robert Legg.

The Paris Choir

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm in St Peter’s Church, Newlands Avenue, Didcot. Our first rehearsal will be Tuesday 9th September.

2008 is our Golden Jubilee year, and in June we celebrated with a Gala concert in the presence of many previous members and conductors, with the Rt Hon Ed Vaizey as our special guest.

OUR RECENT TOUR

In July we marked this special year with our first international tour, performing three concerts in and around Paris.

Our next concert:
Didcot Choral Society rounds off its Golden Jubilee with a concert of contrasting styles.

Recently returned from a successful three-concert tour of Paris, Didcot Choral Society will end a memorable year of celebrations with a performance of Schubert’s simple and charming Mass no. 2 in G major, and the well-loved Magnificat by the most successful and popular choral composer of our times, John Rutter.

The concert will take place Saturday 29th November 2008 at 7.30pm at St Peter’s Church, Newlands Avenue, Didcot. Tickets are priced at £7 (free admission to accompanied children) and will be available on the door, from the Didcot One Stop Shop or by calling 01235 810349.
